CEO & Co-Owner
MJ Leman is a seasoned business executive and entrepreneur with three decades of experience leading growth initiatives across multiple industries. He earned his MBA from The Ohio State University and takes a disciplined, data-driven approach to achieving ambitious goals that create value for all stakeholders. Since 2019, MJ has focused his career on MTM, building a high-performance team and customer-centric, equipment manufacturer rooted in the local community, just a few miles from his childhood farmstead. Outside of work, he enjoys camping with family, mountain biking, and serving on nonprofit boards.

James Hunt
Product Director
James Hunt has been a cornerstone of MTM since he joined the company in 2016 with 25 years of manufacturing experience. As one of the co-founders of the Round Bottom End Dump Trailer, which is now used nationwide, James has played a pivotal role in the company's growth and innovation. His dedication to new product development, improved design quality, and fostering employee growth and retention has made him an invaluable leader within MTM. James is also passionate about creating sustainable jobs in his local community, reflecting his deep commitment to making a positive impact. Living in Kewanee, IL, James enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and six grandchildren. When he's not driving MTM forward, you can find him rebuilding classic cars, barbecuing, and enjoying quality family time.

With a background in both manufacturing and transportation environments, Brian offers a well-rounded perspective that drives results for our team and our customers. His straightforward work ethic and commitment to doing things the right way reflect the values that keep MTM moving forward. Jim Moise brings nearly 40 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, and engineering across the trucking, automotive, aerospace, and financial sectors. He’s held executive roles at organizations including Fifth Third Bank, Modine Manufacturing, First Student, and Navistar. Now serving as Supply Chain Advisor at MTM Trailers, Jim is focused on optimizing sourcing and strengthening supplier partnerships. He holds engineering degrees from the University of Kansas and a master’s in management from Benedictine University. Outside of work, Jim enjoys woodworking and traveling.

Larry Gajeski brings over 25 years of supply chain and operations leadership experience across manufacturing organizations in the U.S. and Canada. His background spans procurement, materials management, production planning, logistics, demand planning, and S&OP/IBP leadership. Throughout his career, Larry has led cross-functional teams focused on improving efficiency, optimizing inventory and capacity, and aligning operational strategy with business growth. Prior to joining MTM, he held senior supply chain roles with Great Dane Trailers, Little Lady Foods, and Kraft Foods, where he drove continuous improvement initiatives and supported large-scale planning and integration efforts.

Steve Witte became a part of MTM in 2024, after a successful 25-year career in accounting. He spent eight years at Bituminous Insurance Companies as an advanced accountant and 13 years at Boss Holdings Inc., where he climbed the ranks from staff accountant to controller, eventually becoming the chief financial officer. Before joining MTM, Steve worked for two years at Caterpillar, Inc. as a senior staff accountant, honing his expertise in financial management. At MTM, Steve enjoys being part of a growing company that provides opportunities within the small community. Outside of work, Steve loves playing guitar and spending time in nature.

Nick Ballard
Director of Engineering
Nick Ballard has over 15 years of experience in engineering and operations. He started his career at CNH Goodfield, leading logistics and operations for tillage equipment manufacturing, and then spent eight years at Springfield Armory, where he launched four new firearm lines as Director of Product Engineering. Before joining MTM, he worked in continuous improvement at Washington Mills. Nick is passionate about designing products for discrete manufacturing and is proud to support MTM’s focus on customer-centric, purpose-driven trailer designs. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, recreational shooting, watching Chicago Bears football, and gardening.

Jim Streitmatter
Jim Streitmatter
Principal Engineer
Since 2018, Jim Streitmatter has applied over 30 years of expertise in construction equipment development to his role at MTM. His career includes positions as a Test Engineer, Design Engineer, CAD/CAM/CAE System Administrator, and Project Engineer/Team Leader. Jim has contributed to the design of structural, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems, as well as testing equipment like forklifts, construction trailers, and soil stabilizers. At MTM, Jim enjoys the challenge of transitioning to the automotive industry, where the emphasis on lightweight, durable, and reliable designs adds an exciting new layer to his engineering experience. Outside of work, Jim enjoys woodworking, electronics, building computers, and engaging in various hands-on projects like construction and maintenance on homes and automobiles. He also loves target shooting, fishing, and boating.

Patty is responsible for everything from title and registration of new trailers to customer service and keeping our whole operation running smoothly. Before MTM she worked for BOMAG for 22 years as the Manager of Parts Sales, handling customer service, and shipping & receiving for North America. At MTM, Mark oversees production with a focus on efficiency, training, and quality, ensuring every trailer meets the standards our customers expect. Bob Nason
Northeast Sales Manager
Bob Nason joined MTM in 2025. He served seven years in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant in the Signal Corps, stationed at Ft. Hood, Camp Carroll, and Fort Campbell. After transitioning to the telecommunications field, Bob began installing fiber optics and telecom systems before moving into sales in 1999, driven by his passion for solving business challenges. Over the years, he has held various sales roles, with the past eight focused on the construction industry. Bob finds working with heavy equipment professionals especially rewarding and values MTM's exceptional products and strong, customer-focused team. Bob is excited to help drive MTM’s growth in the Northeast region, confident that his experience and timing have aligned perfectly for continued success. Daniel Klumpp joined MTM in 2020, leveraging his combined skills in finance and IT. He began his career at an accounting firm before moving into banking, where he explored his interest in IT. This unique blend of experience positioned him perfectly for his role at MTM, where he has played a key role in developing the manufacturing ERP system to help drive the company's growth. Daniel enjoys the ongoing challenge of implementing and optimizing the ERP system at MTM. Christine’s background is rooted in administrative and sales roles, but she discovered her passion for commercial lending when she joined MTM. While banking wasn’t initially in her career plans, she quickly found her niche and has excelled in this new role. She loves the fast-paced nature of her work and the constant challenges that keep her engaged and motivated. In February 2026, Christine was promoted to Senior Finance Operations & Development Manager in recognition of her leadership, strategic impact, and continued growth within MTM. In this role, she leads financial operations while advancing the development and expansion of MTM’s in-house financing initiatives. Christine appreciates MTM’s family-first values and the supportive work environment that feels like a second home. As a mom to four boys—ranging from a kindergartener to a grown adult—she knows the importance of balance. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, cooking, and finding peace in nature after a busy week.

With extensive experience in construction and fabrication, Jared Hanson became part of the MTM team in 2023. A skilled carpenter, he spent six years in commercial construction, 10 years in residential construction, and seven years specializing in custom stainless-steel fabrication. At MTM, Jared focuses on maintaining smooth operations across the facility and production areas while leading the maintenance team with a hands-on, problem-solving approach. Outside of work, Jared enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and tackling tasks around the house.

Since 2020, Brianna Stahl has been an integral part of MTM, leveraging her strong background in accounting and finance. A Bradley University graduate with a degree in accounting, Brianna spent 4.5 years at John Deere, holding positions in corporate accounting and budgeting. At MTM, she began in roles related to accounts payable, purchasing, and accounting, which led her to her current position as Finance Manager. She has also taken on informal HR responsibilities, contributing to the company’s overall growth. Brianna enjoys the opportunity to see how the financial operations come together and values the close-knit environment of working in a small company. Her time at MTM has helped her grow both personally and professionally as she embraces new challenges and interacts with the entire team. Ethan Olson
Design Engineer II
Ethan Olson became part of MTM in 2024, following a successful career at an overhead lifting device company where he advanced from inspector to project manager shortly after finishing college. After serving as chief engineer for several years, Ethan decided to explore new opportunities and joined MTM’s team. He enjoys the creative aspect of his role, from turning ideas into reality to making impactful design decisions that shape the final product. While challenging at times, Ethan thrives on the process of bringing his designs to life. In his free time, you’ll find Ethan in his woodshop or riding his motorcycle. He’s an avid off-road racer but considers himself more of a weekend warrior these days.

Manufacturing Engineer
Syed Abdul Haq joined MTM Midwest Trailer Manufacturing in 2025 as a Manufacturing Engineer, bringing experience from Caterpillar, CNH Industrial, and Micro Welds. He has worked extensively on mining trucks and large wheel loaders at Caterpillar, where he led detailed time studies and implemented workflow, safety, and line balancing improvements. At CNH Industrial, he was part of a launch assembly project where he designed a lean flow assembly cell, optimized facility layouts, and improved kitting and inventory logistics. During his Lean Manufacturing Internship at Micro Welds, Syed led a team to analyze current-state operations, redesign future-state layouts, and implement Kanban systems and fixture improvements that streamlined material flow and reduced waste. Syed holds a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Bradley University and enjoys combining design, data, and floor-level insights to drive efficiency and product quality. At MTM, he focuses on cycle time reduction, fixture design in SolidWorks, and continuous improvement across welding, machining, and final assembly lines. Outside of work, Syed enjoys fishing, cooking, and hiking — always exploring new trails or experimenting with recipes in the kitchen.

Rachel Ramirez joined MTM in 2021, drawing from her diverse background in accounts payable, billing, healthcare, and customer service. At MTM, Rachel has contributed across several departments, including customer service and accounts payable, and now holds the position of Purchasing Representative. January of 2026, Lea was promoted to Purchasing Representative, taking on a critical role in supporting production and operations through accurate purchasing, strong organization, and close attention to detail. Her broad experience and ability to adapt make her an integral part of the team, helping keep materials, timelines, and internal processes running smoothly. Outside of her role at MTM, Lea manages a part-time job and continues her passion for preservation work. Liberty Steffen joined MTM in September 2021, and her role has grown significantly; she now works as a Production Scheduler and has been instrumental in implementing the new ERP system, bridging the gap between the floor and the system. Liberty loves that her role allows her to interact with various departments and get her hands dirty, ensuring that no two days are ever the same. This variety keeps work engaging and fulfilling. Liberty likes reading, spending time outdoors, and being with her family, whether playing games, talking, or taking vacations.

Steve Swearingen became part of the MTM team in August 2021with years of hands-on expertise in heavy equipment and municipal services. His career in the early 2000s started with Bomag Americas, where he played a key role in building heavy equipment. From there, he moved to Caterpillar, working on engine emissions testing. For over a decade, Steve served the City of Kewanee, operating sanitation trucks, working in the Street Department, and ultimately becoming the Lead Heavy Equipment Operator and Sewer Camera Technician. At MTM, Steve serves as the Service Manager and Service Supervisor, where he enjoys interacting with employees and customers, ensuring that newly built trailers are ready for use. Steve is passionate about classic cars, hot rods, and Harley Davidsons. He also enjoys building car, truck, and semi models, and spending time with his wife and son, especially while watching his son wrestle.

Drake Stevens brings over a decade of hands-on experience in equipment operations, maintenance, and customer service to his role as Service Writer at MTM Trailers. With a diverse background in agriculture, emergency services, and heavy equipment sales, Drake is focused on helping customers keep their equipment moving and minimizing downtime. Since joining MTM in early 2026, he has jumped in to support day-to-day service operations and is already laying the groundwork for a more streamlined and accessible parts ordering system, including development of an online parts store. Outside of work, Drake enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, and getting out on the water. He’s passionate about traveling, boating, motorsports, hunting, and fishing.

Prior to that, Joe worked for a family-owned business, where he operated equipment, performed mechanical work, and supported demolition and brush services. Joe enjoys meeting and helping customers and appreciates the opportunity to explore new states and scenic views across the U.S. in his role at MTM. Quality Control Analyst
Holly Swearingen joined MTM in 2023 as part of the rework team and has continued to grow into a key role within the company. In March 2026, she was promoted to Quality Control Analyst, where she plays an important part in maintaining accuracy and consistency across production. During her time on the rework team, Holly became a go-to resource and a reliable source of truth, managing documentation, tracking customer orders in the system, and helping ensure clear communication between departments. That same attention to detail and ownership now carries into her role in quality control. Beyond her day-to-day responsibilities, Holly has made a strong impact on MTM culture. She founded the MTM Pride and Passion Committee, which has since evolved into the MTM Spirit Committee. Through this effort, she has helped bring employees together and strengthen connections across the company and within the community. The committee has led initiatives like MTM’s Family Day and Open House and helped secure sponsorship of Kewanee’s Spanish Heritage Month Celebration. Outside of work, Holly enjoys baking, gardening, and canning with her husband. She is a proud sports mom who spends much of her time supporting her son at wrestling events, and she is known for sharing her homemade treats with the team.

Brookelynn Smith joined MTM in 2024, fresh off earning her degree in accounting. Her journey started in college, where she worked as a cashier and waitress before moving into a role as a case processor at an insurance company. Eventually, she transitioned to an accounting internship within the same company, laying the groundwork for her current role at MTM. Brookelynn enjoys the month-end closing processes and finds it fascinating to be involved in distributing payroll checks, which gives her insight into the broader operations at MTM. Outside of work, Brookelynn loves cooking, baking, fishing, and spending time with her friends, family, and fiancé.

IT Support Specialist & Safety Technician
As MTM’s in-house IT Support Specialist and Safety Technician, he takes a hands-on, people-first approach to both tech support and workplace safety. He manages help desk requests, maintains systems like Windows 11, Google Workspace, Acumatica ERP, and VoIP, and ensures network infrastructure runs smoothly. He also partners with the Safety Manager and HR to support OSHA compliance, conduct inspections, and assist staff across departments. With a background in restaurant management and a strong belief in teamwork, he’s proud to contribute to an environment where safety and support go hand-in-hand. Backed by the love of his wife and two daughters, he brings integrity, care, and purpose to everything he does—working toward the long-term goal of growing his role into a full-service internal MSP and expanding MTM’s Safety Team.

Jill Matuszyk is the Business Manager for MTM’s Four Degree product line, bringing over 30 years of experience in sales and customer service. She’s been with the Four Degree team since 2018, experiencing its full evolution from Advanced Metalworking to Rhino Tool, then Triple L, and now MTM Trailers. Known for her energy, passion, and ability to build strong rapport, Jill is dedicated to understanding each customer’s needs and delivering a truly personalized experience. Outside of work, Jill enjoys spending time with her four children and eight grandchildren. She also loves shopping, playing cards, and bingo nights with her 91-year-old mother.
